Boho Skirts and Pants

Known as hippie or gypsy skirts, boho skirts are often rich in color and prints – often with a flowy shape that exudes laidbackness. The maxi skirt is especially nice for looking elegant.
Other bottom garments that complement anyone with a bohemian fashion style are usually gaucho and harem pants. Casual harem and gaucho pants give you lots of comfy space around your crotch, butt and thighs, and look stylish with a basic tee and a leather jacket.
How to Wear Boho Skirts and Pants
The art of selecting the right skirt is to find one that is fitted around your hips to avoid the sloppy beggar look. This is especially a must if you’re 5’4″ or shorter. So if you’re short and/or have short legs, avoid wide flared skirts as they’ll drown your figure.
If you want to look chic and elegant in a long skirt, look for a fitted shape that sits snugly around your hips. This helps streamlining your silhouette, helping you look tall and lean. Petites – take note!
Depending on your body shape, if you have a prominent lower body (wide hips, thighs, etc), most maxi skirts will conceal that, but I also suggest to buy a skirt with a slightly flared hem to draw the eye away from your curves.
Get the Proportions Right
A voluminous skirt or pants – or any bottom garment with lots of interest (details, prints, colors, etc.) – needs clothing on top that is the opposite. So think fitted on top, casual/loose on the bottom – or vice versa.
To balance out the voluminous look of these boho skirts and pants, add a simple tank tee. If you need more attention to your upper body, simply top it off with a pair of earrings.
Also remember to wear a top that is of a different length of the skirt or pants. So if you’re wearing a maxi skirt, opt for a hip length top. Or if your skirt is short, wear a longer top – or complete it with a long blazer or cardigan.
Look Chic With the Right Hem Shape and Length
The one thing you should be careful with when buyig boho skirts, is the length of the skirt and pants. Basically, anything around knee length or shorter is universally flattering. Anything below that is a bit risky because it tends to overpower your silhouette and make you look shorter.
However, tall women can pull off most styles. If you’re short or have full legs and want to wear a long skirt or a pair of cropped pants, you need to opt for a length that falls above or below the thinnest part of your ankles. Any skirt style that extends above the knee is super-flattering and help make your legs look longer.
