"Your Dominant Characteristic in the Seasonal Color Analysis - Deep & Dark"
People with a Deep dominant characteristic have the darkest coloring in the seasonal color analysis. If you have dark hair and eyes then you’re most likely a Deep. Your overall coloring is dark, a complete contrast to women with Light characteristics. Many classic Latinas and women of color fall within this group.

Typical Characteristics of a Deep Coloring
These are your dominant characteristics that set you apart from the rest in the seasonal color analysis:
- Hair color ranges from all sorts of black (ash black, bluish black, reddish black) to chestnut brown, and even dark auburn.
- Eye color is usually brown (black-brown, dark brown, medium brown), dark hazel or dark green. Blue eyes are also possible, but they have to be very dark, and not so sparkly and clear.
- Skin tone varies – from pale ivory or olive to dark olive, tan-brown to black skin.
Graying Hair is Also a Sign of Deep
You may have aging hair, eg. steel gray or salt & pepper, and still be a Deep. Such as Ruby Dee.
However if your hair, eyes and skin have a ashy tinge to them, you’re likely a Cool.
Deep vs. Cool
If your hair is ashy and looks cool (eg. graying hair) and/or eyes have a soft look to them (eg. grayish blue), then you’re probably a Cool, not Dark or Clear.
Kate Middleton is an example of a Cool. Many have been fooled by her hair dark hair and tan, but trust me, she looks awful in bright yellow (google ‘Kate Middleton yellow bikini’) and her coloring is not strong enough to hold the many dark colors in this color palette.
Your Best Colors
Some of your best colors are dark, such as black, royal purple and dark reds. Your coloring needs dark and vivid colors. Light pastels make you look washed out.
Depending on your undertones, if you’re warm you look fantastic in rich, golden colors such as tomato red and terracotta. If you’re cool, your coloring looks amazing in true colors such as true red and fuschia.

To figure out if you’re a Deep Winter (Cool) or Deep Autumn (Warm), you need to determine if you suit warm or cool colors better. This tells you what type of dark colors look best on you.

Your best colors are the ones that complement the intensity of your dark eyes and hair as well as the warm and muted undertones. You look terrific in yellow based colors such as tomato red and plum. Camel, gold, creams and terracotta give you a flawless golden glow.
Compared to the other Autumns you’ll be able to wear black as your coloring flows towards Winter.

See how they differ in undertone? Autumn is also slightly muted, while a Winter is more pure and vivid, but both are similar in intensity, and it’s not uncommon to flow between both palettes as many of the colors overlap with each other.
Always take the silver or gold test to be sure.

Some of your best colors are pure and vivid, and you’ll be able to wear some of the deepest colors of the Deep Autumn palette such as chocolate brown. You look best in blue-based dark colors such as true red and navy. Fuschia is also a great color with your coloring.
