Influencer Chic: How To Build Your Personal Brand

I have seen countless wannabe influencers fail because they don’t take the time to figure out what their brand is. They think that simply by copying other popular influencers they stand a good chance of becoming famous. But this isn’t true. Why would people want a carbon copy of someone else?

Influencers become successful because they offer something different. Something unique. And, most importantly, because they offer something real. If your brand isn’t built upon your own reality then you are doomed to failure. But fear not! We are here to help you build your personal brand. Stick with us and you’ll soon see yourself start to rise in the influencer rankings.

Find Your Audiance

The first step to success is finding your audience. One of the main reasons I see so many people fail in this game is because they try to appeal to everyone. And as the saying goes ‘If you try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one.’ And this is especially true in the influencer game.

A good example of this is gaming influencers. Chances are their content isn’t going to appeal to people looking for fashion vloggers. And if they suddenly started to make all their content fashion focused they would undoubtedly lose all their followers. And while they might find some success in their new niche, chances are they won’t ever reach the same amount of followers they had before.

You need to narrow down what your content is going to be about. This should work to your skillset where possible. Once you know what your content is going to be you should find other influencers producing similar content. Once you’ve found them you should study how their audience interacts with them. What is it they like or dislike about that influencer? This will give you a good idea if their audience is going to be the same as yours. And from there you can better build your brand to suit their tastes.

If you are going to be putting yourself front and center in your content then you will also need to consider what you are wearing and how you are presenting yourself to your audience. Especially if you’re producing fashion based content. Try to keep your style consistent between seasons. Having a distinct look will help you sell merchandise down the line. And, if you become popular enough, you could see people start to cosplay as you.

Increase Your Exposure

The influencer market has become very competitive in recent years. So you need to maximise your exposure if you want to build your brand. To that end you need to establish yourself on as many different social media platforms as possible.

The primary platforms you should be using are TikTok and Instagram. This is where you will find the bulk of your followers. And it is where you will, ideally, start earning your money from. You will put out the majority of your content here. Even if you’re planning to become a Twitch streamer you will still need to maintain an active presence on both of these platforms. You should upload clips of your streams to bring in new viewers.

Reddit is another platform you need to be utilising. A lot of people forget about Reddit and they end up missing out on thousands of potential followers. Your Reddit profile should be used to advertise your content while also giving you a chance to engage with your fanbase in a more relaxed environment. Reddit can be quite tricky to establish yourself on. So you should use agencies like Rupvote, this agency will help you get more upvotes and ensure that more people are seeing your advertisement posts.

If you are looking at producing content more aimed towards gamers or nerd culture then you will definitely want to create a Discord server as well. This is the best way to ensure that your fanbase stays loyal. Giving them a place to interact with one another but also with you. Discord is also a great place to drop content ahead of time. Making your fans who use it feel special and encouraging them to invite others to the server.
