If you have a Spring coloring and need advice on what colors to wear, read along and discover tips and tricks on how to wear and select the best colors for your fresh, warm and bright skin, hair and eye color!

If you’re a Spring,
you probably have:
- Low level of contrast between hair, skin and eye color. However you may also have dark hair, pale skin but with clear eyes
- Clear, warm and golden undertone to your overall coloring. If your skin appears pink, it’s more likely a warm pink (think peach). Some cool undertones may exist but is much less than the warmth
- Earth and summer tone quality to your eyes, ranging from turquoise blue to hazel and sparkly light brown
- Your hair is between a dark to medium brown to coppery red, strawberry, deep golden to light blonde hair. If your hair is dark it most likely has golden or reddish highlights
- If you’re a woman of color with dark hair, you probably have clear and lighter eyes than what’s typical in your ethnicity (eg. Turquoise blue, green, topaz, light brown, hazel)

Summer
Autumn
Winter
Your coloring is in general warm but bright. The majority of red-heads fall within this season because of the dominant warm, red hair color. Also, many women of color who are incorrectly identified as Deep Autumn may belong to this group. Women of color who are a Spring has a warm coloring as Autumns but with less intensity; with clearer and lighter eye color and/or hair color.

I’ve had several African-American women with a coloring similar to Beyoncè email me regarding this as they’ve been diagnosed as Deep Autumn but found the colors too dark on their complexion. However the Spring color palettes suit them wonderfully! Learn more about color analysis for women of color.
Your Color Palette Within
the Spring Season
Now we’re going to take a look at which palette within the Spring season you belong to, based on the dominant quality and intensity of your skin, hair and eye color.

Because as you already know, you and your friend can both have a Spring coloring but one of you may be lighter/darker and differ in color palette by a few nuances.

Differences between the 3 Springs
Here we have 3 examples of 3 Springs with typical dominant characteristics but different intensities. Kate Hudson (center) is considered a true spring, while Heather Graham (left) flows more towards Winter so her intensity is slightly clearer and vivid – a Clear Spring. While Amy Adams flows the opposite way towards Autumn, making her a richer Autumn-like Spring – a Warm Autumn.

Now let’s check out the typical characteristics and color palette of each intensity:
Light Spring (eg. Kate Hudson)
Eyes: Blue, green, light hazel, light pale brown
Hair: Light to medium golden blonde, or light to medium golden brown. May have light and soft red hair
Skin: Ivory with warm pink (peach) undertones.
Your have in general a light coloring so you can not have dark brown eyes, as light colors won’t harmonize with your deep eyes. You may have some neutrality to your coloring because of your light features but warm undertones.
You flow into Light Summer which is the lightest and most delicate color palette in the entire seasonal color analysis. Learn more about what it means to have a Light coloring and what colors to wear.

Clear Spring (eg. Heather Graham)
Eyes: Turquoise blue, green, topaz (brownish)
Hair: Medium to dark golden brown, or even black-brown. Or a very bright, golden and deep blonde hair
Skin: Bronze, deep warm brown, brown-black, light ivory, light peach, porcelain
Your coloring is high contrast and full of saturation. If you have dark hair you can be mistaken for a Winter but the apparent warmth in your coloring tells you otherwise. But you may still flow into the Clear Winter palette. Learn more about what it means to be a Clear coloring and what colors to wear.

Warm Spring (eg. Amy Adams)
Eyes: Topaz, olive green, light hazel or blue

Your coloring is strictly warm. If you have more obvious cool undertones to your skin even though your hair and eyes are warm, you may not be a Warm Spring.
If you have some darker features (eg. medium chestnut hair) you may flow into Warm Autumn. Learn more about what it means to be a Warm and what colors to wear.
